Travertine is a type of limestone formed around springs of mineral water in mountainous regions. Travertine is porous because gas escaped from mineral water during its origin. Turkey holds 36% of the world’s known reserves of travertine and marble. Travertine is a smooth stone which was commonly used in the Roman Empire. Today, it is frequently used as a builing material throughout Italy. Travertine is ideal for both commercial and residential use. The most common application of travertine is flooring. It can be used for floor tile, kitchen flooring, bathroom wall tile, bathroom floor tile, as well as exterior use.
